I have always been a dog person. To me, life is one hundred times more fun with a dog in it. But after moving abroad, the truth was that getting a furry companion made very little sense in terms of fairness and practicality. (Who would take care of it when I’m traveling and visiting family across the Atlantic? Would it be happy in a cramped NYC apartment?). So, I quickly made peace with the fact that having a dog again would simply have to wait.

Then one day, as I was crossing Union Square, I stumbled upon an adoption event…

If you’re addicted to dog content like me, you’ve probably stumbled upon videos of Bunny the Sheepadoodle from Tacoma, Washington, telling her ‘mum’ she wants to ‘play’ or ‘go outside’ by pressing a series of buttons on a soundboard.

At first, the conversation held between the pup and her owner, Alexis Devine, seems to be simply a series of lucky guesses. But I must admit that, the longer I watched the video, the more I was tempted to believe that Bunny was clearly expressing herself.

Could this seemingly groundbreaking new system mean we’re getting closer to having actual conversations with…

While everyone pretends to care, very little has changed.

Of the top 250 grossing films of 2017, women comprised 18% of all directors, writers, producers, executive producers, editors, and cinematographers. On the other side of the camera, only 24% of those movies had female protagonists. That’s 5% less than in 2016. But this is no news for anyone anymore - although it astonishingly feels like it.

Now that the Weinstein scandal has paved the way for some serious clean-up focused on men who for decades have abused their power in Hollywood, women in show business are, at long last, getting…

Disney Pixar’s latest released creation about a young boy who embarks on an incredible journey to the Land of the Dead has been hard to miss lately — and for good reason. Since its release last November, Lee Unkrich’s Coco has met with nothing but success critically as well as at the box office (it remained in the top position for 3 weeks in a row). And now that it has won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at the 75th Golden Globe Awards and 90th Oscars ceremony, the touching animated tale really joins Hollywood’s big league!

We’ve all wondered what happens behind the curtain of the glamorous, star-studded annual Oscars ceremony. Do attending celebrities just hang out around drinks like long-time friends after the show? How much work does it really take to host it? Does a statuette have a price? Too many questions have crossed our minds and were left unanswered… Which is why, a week ahead of the 90th Academy Awards ceremony (remember to tune in on Sunday, March 4th!), there’s not better time to gain insight into what really happens behind the scenes of the glossy celebration.

Despite what last year’s ‘Best Movie’…

Yes, Valentine’s Day is already behind us, but who would we be if we celebrated love and all its beautiful, uncanny and magical cinematographic moments only one day a year?

Without further ado, here are some of the greatest movie lines ever written to melt your heart and inspire you to call the one to simply tell them how you feel. Because, just like there isn’t only one chance to say those things, there isn’t just one way, either…

Traditions are what makes a celebratory holiday extra special. Between finding the present that will bring that long-awaited smile on a loved one’s face, creating a new playlist for the occasion filled with timeless tunes ranging from Baby, It’s Cold Outside to Mariah Carrey’s All I want for Christmas (don’t deny it, you’ve listened to it, and you liked it!) and Googling for the 100th time the recipe for those delicious ginger bread cookies, (re)watching Christmas movies is indisputably one of the most pleasurable season rituals (together with dipping those cookies into warm, creamy hot coco, naturally).

Which is why…

Because sometimes, one is enough.

It’s not that screenwriters are running out of ideas (look at all the flourishing original TV series likeNetflix’s Narcos, Stranger Things, HBO’s Westworld, or even NBC’s This Is Us for proof), it’s just that Hollywood has always considered remakes a potential gold mine that requires minimum effort. A lazy strategy that, occasionally, actually works…

Unfortunately, more often than not, the motivation behind the decision to produce reboots is nothing more than cash, and — as already established — lots of it. …

They’re not everybody’s cup of tea, yet horror movies such as those that make up the successful, ever-expanding Conjuring Universe (The Conjuring 1 and 2, Annabelle, and now, Annabelle: Creation) seem to constantly be sought after. A not so curious phenomenon that can, in fact, be traced back to the early age of cinema.

But why, if we focus on the emotions (fear, despair, and sometimes even disgust) this type of films trigger, do they still stir a desire in individuals to pay to see them in theater? …
